Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Dorchester Crescent this occurred on Tuesday 23rd June between 15:05hrs and 16:10hrs. The method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry. 

Suspect/s have snapped the lock on the rear door of the property but failed to gain entry but then prise open the rear window and enter the property. Suspect/s do not take any items

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between (please add times if known) to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
